Scotty Rushing is a writer and full-time student at Arizona State University where he is pursuing a BA in English with minors in Film and Media Studies and Psychology. Scotty received an AA in Applied Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2014. Scotty lives in Louisiana on a 60-acre thoroughbred farm with his partner, Sharon. They share their home with a variety of animal companions including horses, dogs, and cats. Many of their pets are rescues.
These words from Henry David Thoreau express one of Scotty’s fundamental beliefs:
“I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by a conscious endeavor.”
Thanks for taking the time to visit my little acre of the Cloud. I hope you will find something that interests and is useful to you. My blog, Conscious Endeavor, is an eclectic mix of subject matter. I write about anything that turns me on, really, so always bear in mind that the opinions expressed here are mine and do not necessarily reflect those of Arizona State University, Psi Chi, or any other institution or organization I am affiliated with (yes, my friends, we live in an age of obligatory disclaimers). Please feel free to chime in on my blog posts with your own comments.
My life has gone through some dramatic changes in the last few years. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, went back to school for my degree, and started writing creatively again in addition to my freelance work as a creator of original web content. I prefer to see challenges as opportunities to refine my character and push myself to greater heights. You can read my answer to MS here.
I am always interested in hearing from my readers, fellow psych majors and other college students, or anyone who feels the need to give me a shout. In most cases I will get back to you within a few hours, but realize that it may take longer if I am occupied with work, finals, or other tasks. Just know that your emails are important to me and that I read and reply to them promptly.
